Gnosis is the timeless, universal wisdom that has inspired humanity’s greatest spiritual traditions, philosophies, sciences, and sacred arts. It is the living knowledge behind the temples of ancient Egypt, the pyramids of the Mayas and Aztecs, the medicine of the native peoples, the teachings of the Druids, and the mysticism of the East.
Beyond time, culture, or creed, Gnosis is a superior knowledge of ourselves, nature, and the cosmos. It answers life’s deepest questions about birth and death, being and non-being, and the mystery of creation.
This profound wisdom is not the property of any single person or group — it is infinite, like Truth itself, and each of us can uncover only a part of it through study, experience, and inner awakening.
Gnosis is the life force within every atom, every flower, the turning planet, the shining sun — it is the consciousness that moves through all things. It unites science, philosophy, art, and religion into one path: the path that teaches us to awaken, to love, to understand reality, and to connect with the Divine.

Four Words to the Reader
Without wishing to offend any sensitive feelings, we must emphasize that venerable institutions exist within the cultural and spiritual environment of contemporary humanity that sincerely believe they know the Secret Path—though, in truth, they do not.
Allow me the freedom to say, with great solemnity, that we do not seek to make destructive criticisms. We merely emphasize certain points—and this, surely, is no crime. Out of deep and simple respect for our fellow human beings, we would never speak against any mystical institution.
Human beings cannot be blamed for not knowing something that has never been taught to them. The Secret Path has never been publicly revealed.
In rigorously Socratic terms, we wish to point out that many scholars who claim to know the Path of the Razor’s Edge not only do not know it—they are unaware that they do not know it.
Without pointing at any specific spiritual organization, and without intending to harm anyone, we must simply say that the learned ignoramus not only does not know but also does not know that he does not know.
References to the Secret Path appear in many ancient sacred texts; it is cited and mentioned in countless verses. Yet people still do not truly know it.
The purpose of this Work that you now hold in your hands, dear reader, is to reveal and teach the esoteric path that leads to Final Liberation. This is, therefore, one more book of the Fifth Gospel.
Goethe, the great German Initiate, once said: “Theories are grey, but the tree of life is ever green.” And this, truly, is life.
In this new book, we offer only transcendental, living experiences—those which we have verified, and which we have experienced directly.
The Maps of the Path must now be drawn. Each step must be clearly indicated, each danger plainly marked, and the Way outlined with precision.
Some time ago, the Guardians of the Holy Sepulcher told me: “We know that you are departing, but before you go, you must leave humanity the Maps of the Path—and your own words.”
I replied, “That is exactly what I shall do.” From that moment on, I solemnly undertook the task of writing this book.
